Matrix Computers have been providing expert, personal IT support and solutions to business and home users around the west coast of Scotland since 1997, the days of Windows 95 and dial-up internet access - when you could have a PC in any colour you liked, as long as it was beige.
We are based in Oban and cover the Argyll and Highland areas including Oban, Fort William, Campbeltown, Lochgilphead, Inverary, and Dunoon as well as the Inner and Outer Hebridean islands. In addition, we also offer online remote support and telephone support to those in outlying areas. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, as long as you have a connection to the internet, we can provide remote support to help sort your IT problems. We have even fixed a MacBook Pro over a 4G mobile data connection whilst the owner was at sea around the Canary Isles!
Our team of highly experienced technical staff are qualified Microsoft Certified Professionals. We employ a policy of on-going staff training to ensure our skills are kept up to date, enabling us to efficiently support the latest hardware, software, and cloud technologies.
We pride ourselves on our excellent, personal customer service. When you call us you’ll get straight through either to Andy or Paul, no call queues or automated menu systems.

Andy MacDonaldVertical Divider
Director
Andy deals with all aspects of the business but his main responsibility is looking after our business clients. He is highly experienced in dealing with networks, servers and commercial Wi-Fi installations. Andy is also the person to speak to about Microsoft 365 products and services. He’s managed dozens of Microsoft 365 cloud migrations and knows how to make the transition to the cloud as pain free as possible. If you’re looking to move your business to the cloud, a chat with Andy could save you a considerable amount of time and money. Andy is a keen fisherman, equally happy fly-fishing for wild brown trout in the hill lochs on the west coast of Scotland as he is big game fishing in the Canaries, where he fishes for giant bluefin tuna and blue marlin. Paul Brady
Workshop Manager
Paul looks after the day to day running of our busy shop and workshop and he carries out the majority of repairs to PCs, laptops, Macs and iPhones. There’s not much that Paul doesn’t know about PCs and Macs, so if you have an issue please pop in and have a chat with him. He’s very approachable and knows exactly what he’s talking about! Paul has worked for Matrix Computers for so long that nobody - including himself - can remember when he started. We think it was around 2000? Paul is an Oban boy and is kept busy with his young family. In the little spare time he gets he enjoys online gaming. Paul’s Microsoft accreditations: Microsoft 365 Certified - Fundamentals Microsoft Certified Professional
